Violation: stop-work orders for Palestinian residences.

Location: Wadi al Naqi in Idhna – Hebron.

Perpetrators: the Israeli Occupation Civil Administration.

 

Details:

 

On January 20, 2013, the Israeli Occupation Authorities issued a number of stop-work orders for structures in Idhna, to the west of Hebron. Eyewitnesses stated that officers of the Israeli Occupation Civil Administration placed the orders on the targeted structures and took pictures of them before leaving. The orders said that the structures were ‘illegally built’ and demanded ‘immediate stoppage of construction’. They also set February 18, 2013 as the date of a hearing session to be held in Beit El Military Court to decide on ‘demolition or returning to the status quo’.

The Israeli Occupation Authorities issued another order on December 17, 2012 for a residence, property of Saddam abu Zalta, with a total area of 110 m2. The residence is still under construction. The owner prepared a legal file to object to the order.

The locals have seen an increased number of such orders issued against structures in Idhna which is viewed as an attempt to limit urban expansion.
