Details:
On 27/02/2013 the so-called the Planning Committee of the Israeli occupation served to residents of al-Aqaba town, east of Tubas military stop work orders under the pretext of unlicensed construction with area classified C according to Oslo Accords. The houses owners were given 14/03/2013 as a final date to complete the licensing procedures, taking into consideration that that date comes in time with the court session of the Planning Committee in Beit El court.

Counting the recently served notifications, the total of military orders on al-Aqaba structures reached 76 since 2005 until today (source: the data of the village council)
It should be marked that the Israeli occupation does not acknowledge al-Aqaba town as all other towns of the Palestinian Jordan Valley. The town does not have a master plan despite that the village council had submitted a plea to Israel Supreme Court, which refused it three months ago. Noteworthy, all the village’s lands area located within area classified C according to Oslo Accords.
About al-Aqaba:
Al Aqaba village is located 7km away from the northeastern part of Tubas city. Al Aqaba has an area of 3500 dunums registered in the Jordanian Tabo and 2000 dunums are Christian property.
The area main source of income depends on agriculture and animals breeding and that is due to the fertile nature of the land. Obviously, that is what pushed many families from the villages of al-Tayaseer and Tubas to reside in simple houses (made of wood and cloth sheds) in the area. Famous families inhabiting the town are (Abu Mihsin, Subih, Dabik, Jabir, Talib, and Wahdan).
