On August 27, 2012, 4 colonists attacked Ismael al Udra, 65, in Bir al Ad area to the south of Yatta.

The victim said to an LRC observer: ‘I was watching over my cattle in Bir al Ad area. At around 17:00, I saw a car heading to Avigal colony before it stopped. Two guys went off the car and headed to another one. The car drove right towards me; when it got close to me, two people with masks stepped off and attacked me, they hit me with bats on the head and stomach and one of them tried to stab me. I passed out; my son called someone called Izra who works for the Israeli co-existence movement which called the emergency services.’
When asked if he knew the assailants he replied: ‘ I knew the other two who stayed in the car, their names are Avidan and Elad; I knew those very well‘. He said that he will file an official complaint against these two and said that the purpose of the attack is ‘forcing him out of his lands’.
