Description:
Tuesday, October 19th 2021, farmers from Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbiya village went to their farmland in Beer At-Tayra area, and found their trees cut down brutally by fanatic Israeli colonists. Noteworthy, the targeted trees were planted in 1995, about 21 years ago.
One of the owners/ farmers Diab ‘Imran told LRC:
“Most of the targeted trees were planted more than 27 years ago, each one of them produces about 45 kg of olives every years, the trees were completely vandalized. The targeted lands are about 11 dunums of olive groves, planted of 170 olive trees, of which 140 trees were sabotage, and only 30 trees remained untouched.”
Farmers used to go to their olive groves without prior coordination, but now they are forced to get a permission from the occupation authorities on the pretext of protecting the security of Nahliel colonists, which is inhabited by religious extremist colonists.

Affected Citizen Diab testified:
“This is not the first time we suffer from the Occupation’s tyranny; for a while the occupation have been prohibiting us from reaching the lands and cultivate them under security claims. I planted those trees with my hands many years ago, and I took care of them and watched them grow year after year , until the extremist colonists came and cut them off . I already filed a complaint to the occupation police, but I know that nothing will be done.”
Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbbiya (Al-Qibliya) area is a hot spot for colonists assaults, a large part o the village lands was swallowed by Israeli illegal colonies such as : “Harasha, Kerem Elam , and Nahliel” illegal colonies , the colonies devoured and blocked vast areas of agricultural lands.

About Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbiya (Al-Qibliya):[1]
It is located 12km to the northwest of Ramallah city. The village is edged by Abu Shkeidim area from the north, Talmon colony from the west, Abu Qash village from the east, and Ein Qiniya village from the south.
The village has a total land area of 15,275 dunums, of which 1165 dunums are the built-up area. Around 5000 people inhabit the village (2014).
The Israeli occupation confiscated around 329 dunums from the village’s lands to establish the colonies of Nahliel (1984) and the colony of Talmon (1989).
Also, the bypass road number 450 confiscated 75 dunums from the village.
According to Oslo lands classifications, the village lands are as follows:
- 8533 dunums are area classified “B”.
- 6742 dunums are area classified “C”.
