Halt of Work Notices for residential and agricultural structures in Susiya, south Hebron

Description:

Monday, August 4^th 2020, the Israeli occupation authorities issued halt of work notices for residential and agricultural facilities in Susiya village, south Yatta, on the pretext of building without a license.

A vehicle belongs to the so-called Planning and Building Department of the Civil Administration, accompanied by Occupation forces raided the village, and the so-called building inspector wrote notices and hanged them on the targeted facilities.

The Occupation Authorities ordered the “immediate stop of construction works” on the pretext of building without a license, and set 8/9/2020 as a date for the hearing session of the so-called inspection subcommittee, to be held at Beit El military court , at the Beit El settlement.

The notices targeted two residential rooms and agricultural facilities belong to:

First: Citizen Khader Jumaa Al-Nawajah received halt of work notice No. (31106) which targets:

1. A room built of bricks and roofed with steel panels, with an area of 50 m², which he had built in the summer of 2019, and inhabited by a family of 3, including a little girl.
2. A barn built of barbed wire and metal poles, covered with steel sheets with an area of 20 m², and used to accommodate 15 heads of livestock.

Second: Citizen Hussein Radhi Al-Nawajaa who received a halt of work notice No. (31107) and is targeting:

1. A room built of bricks, roofed with steel sheets, with an area of 50 m², and inhabited by a family of (4), including (2) children, the targeted room was built at the beginning of the current year 2020.
2. barn made of barbed wires fixed on metal poles, with an area of (20 m²), and accommodates (12 heads) of livestock.

Earlier, an international humanitarian aid foundation had contributed to the construction of the residential rooms that were targeted by the occupation, as part of the aid campaign provided to citizens in villages and communities threatened of deportation, and for the purpose of strengthening the steadfastness of farmers and citizens on their lands.

Susiya is considered one of the villages under threat of displacement, as the occupation authorities are demanding the deportation of the Nawajaa family -the original inhabitants of the village- in favor of colonial expansion of Susiya colony which was established on confiscated lands from the village at the beginning of eighties of the last century.
