Description:
Friday , the Israeli Occupation forces opened fire towards a plot nearby the Annexation and expansion wall , which resulted in setting fire to (103 olive trees) in Dhohor Al-‘Abed west Jenin city. Reportedly, 70 trees were completely damaged, while the rest were partially damaged.
Dhohor Al-‘Abed village council head Tariq ‘Amarneh told LRC the following:
“Friday, while people were coming back from work behind the green line (in Israel) , through the Annexation and Expansion wall in Dhohor Al-‘Abed west the village , the occupation forces carried on throwing sonic bombs towards the workers (who were illegally passing through the wall) , which resulted a massive fire in the nearby olive groves.”
The flames expanded quickly eating up about 18 dunums of the town’s lands, it was also only 100 m away from the village’s houses. People of the village and firefighters rushed to stop the fire. The lands burnt by the fire are located in natural blocks (3, 5) of the village lands, and 103 trees were eaten by the flames.

Derar Qubha told LRC :
“This land provides us with a source of income, the targeted trees produce around 250 kg of olive oil , it is also a symbol of our resistance and steadfastness in our land , as the occupation tries to deprive us from both our land and identity.”
Khirbet Dhohor Al-Abed:
It is a small village only 26th km west Jenin , surrounded by Zebda (east and north) , ‘Akaba (west) and Qufin (south) . Dhohor Al-Abed has a total area of 660 dunums, while the town has a built up area of 80 dunums , and most of the town’s lands are in C area. The village has a population of 467 people until 2017, most of them depend mainly on agriculture as a main source of income.
