Details of the violation:
In the evening hours of Saturday, April 4, 2020, a group of settlers infiltrated from the colony of “Kedumim” towards the closed southern entrance of the village of Kafr Qaddum within the area known as “Khawarij”. The colonists took advantage of the farmers’ inability to reach that area due to the state of quarantine of Corona” epidemic in the area and the fact that the area is considered a closed military zone due to its proximity to the “Kedumim” settlement. During the attacks, the colonists cut down 20 olive plants at the age of three-years owned by the farmer Akef Abdul Raouf Abdullah Jumaa, a citizen of the village.
Speaking on phone about the details of the attack, farmer Jumaa told the Land Research Center’s researcher the following:
“At the beginning of last January, I planted my land whose total area is one and a half acres with olive seedlings as we periodically take care of it and protect it from the greed of the colonists who often embark on attacks on us and on our land in that area under the protection and participation of their army to discourage us from tending our lands”.
It is noteworthy that during the past few years, the village of Kafr Qaddum has been subjected to dozens of attacks on olive trees. A large number of these attacks were carried out under the escort of the occupation army.
