Description:
At the early morning hours of Thursday 27th of June 2019 , a group of settlers from the Illegal settlement “Barkan” sneaked into Sarta and wrote hatred inciting slogans in Hebrew on several spots. The slogans included “Death for Arabs” , “Here lives the terrorists”, “People of Israeli are alive”.
In addition to that, the fanatic troops slashed the tires of 4 cars that were parked on the street side.

Ibrahim Abdul Salam head of Sarta village council told LRC reporter:
“People of the village woke up on another assault carried out by terrorist Israeli settlers . We called the Israeli police through the Palestinian Liaison office, they showed up and documented the attack as always, without doing anything that may protect people of Sarta from such attacks.”
Abdul Salam asserted:
“We tried several times to rehabilitate the area and put street lights, but the occupation is prohibiting any developmental projects in the area.”

16 km west Salfit city, Sarta is edged by Qarawat Bani Hussan (north), Biddya (west), Haris (east) and Bruqin (south).
Sarta is populated (3,382) people according to PCBS 2017 census.
The village has a total area of 5,615 dunums , of which 457 dunums are a built up area.
Sarta is blocked by “Barkan” and “Ariel” settlements from the east, they also ate up areas of Sarta lands, and “Bruchin” settlement from the south. The occupation confiscated (644) dunums of Sarta lands , exploited in colonization:
