Details:
The so-called Israeli Guardian of Absentees Property delivered on January 30, 2018 a military order of evacuation, targeting a parcel of land (14.5 dunums). Noteworthy, the targeted lands were ploughed and prepared for plantation.
The military order number 39295 mentioned that the targeted lands are classified as "State Lands" and that they were violated by their users. The order also said that the lands are founded in the natural block number four, more specifically in the parcel number 14 of Ya'bad's lands.The affected users of the lands were given a 45 day deadline to restore the previous status of the targeted lands.

According to Land Research Center, the lands are owned by Mohamad Abu Bakr, who contracted with farmers Fayez and Ibrahim Kataneh to use the land for agricultural ends.
The affected user of land, Ibrahim Kataneh, told Land Research Center that he and farmer Fayez contracted with the owner to use the 45 dunum land. Reportedly, Ibrahim is the supporter of a five member family including three children, where Fayez supports his eight member family including five children. Both farmers used to work in areas within the Occupied territories of 1948 but they lost their jobs after the occupation denied them work permits.
Kataneh said:
" I was surprised to find an evacuation order, targeting 14.5 out of the 45 dunums we work on. Our source of income will be affected because we will not be able to use the land despite that the original owner has been using it since long ago"

The mayor of Qaffin town, Jihad Tu'meh, told Land Research Center the following:
" We requested the land users and owner to provide us with all ownership documents and contracts to be used for objection in Israeli court. We also hired a land surveyor to prepare a map for the land that will be used in the objection process in Beit El colony".
About Ya’bad village:
The village is located 18 km to the west of Jenin governorate. It is edged by the villages of Al-Khiljan, Al-Tarm, Al-Araqa, Imraiha and Khirbet Mas’oud, Zabda from the north, Qaffin village from the west, Al-Qaffriat village from the east and Arraba, Al-Nazla Al-Sharqiya and Baqa Al-Sharqiya from the south.
With a total land area of 29572 dunums, of which 1814 dunums are the built-up area, Ya’bad is inhabited by 13640 people (2007).

Some International conventions and Humanitarian laws pertaining to attacks on land and natural resources are:
Article 17 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states:
- Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.
- No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.
Article 1 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights States:
"All peoples may, for their own ends, freely dispose of their natural wealth and resources without prejudice to any obligations arising out of international economic co-operation, based upon the principle of mutual benefit, and international law. In no case may a people be deprived of its own means of subsistence."
