On the 10th of March 2016, the Israeli Civil Administration (ICA) handed out the residents of Azzun town, east of Qalqiliyah city, halt construction orders that targeted 10 Palestinian houses (two of them consists of 2 floors) and three animal sheds.

Wall surrounded his land |
A geopolitical analyses conducted by the Geo-informatics department at the Applied Research Institute- Jerusalem (ARIJ), showed that the targeted houses and structures, which located at the northern part of Azzun town, located in the area classified as “Area C” (according to Oslo Agreement, 1995) which it under the control of the Israeli Occupation Authorities. And for Palestinians living in these area (Area C), they need to get the “building permits” from the Israeli Civil Administration. See the map below
On the other hand , the targeted houses and animal sheds not only located in area classified as “Area C”, but also, located south of the Israeli Bypass road No.55 which used by the Israeli settlers living in Arial settlement bloc to reach the Israeli settlements in the “Western Segregation Zone” (the area created after the construction of the Segregation Wall, and which is located between the path of the Segregation Wall and the Green line). Accordingly, the new halt construction orders targeted these houses because its located near the Israeli bypass road No.55, where the Israeli Authorities aim by demolishing of these houses to protect the movement of the Israeli settlers along the Israeli bypass road No.55.
It’s worth to mention, that the Israeli Authorities confiscated Palestinian lands to construct the “road network” in the occupied West Bank, to be used by the Israeli settlers only in part of them. Also, they aimed to keep about 75 meters at the both sides of the roads for what so called “ security zone”. Accordingly, some of the targeted houses are located about 70 meters away from the route of the Israeli bypass road No.55, which means its located in the “security zone” for the road.
