Details:
On April 22, 2012, the Israeli Occupation Authorities issued stop-work orders for 7 Palestinian residences in Aroub on the pretext of unlicensed construction. The orders specified May 17, 2012, as the date of the hearing session to be held in Beit El Military Court to decide on demolition or returning to the status quo. The houses are located in the southern edge of Al Aroub Refugee Camp, an area known as Shiq al Aroub. 3 of the houses are already inhabited while the rest are still under construction. The owners could not veil their anxiety and fear that their houses will be demolished; Hasan Husniyya said that such orders are intended to obstruct expansion and growth in the camp. He also called for the humanitarian agencies to aid the victims in the completion of construction.
