Five agricultural rooms ordered of demolition in Dhahr es Sobh area- Salfit governorate

Violation:  the Israeli occupation serves orders of demolition for five agricultural rooms in Kafr ad-Dik town.
Location: Dhahr es Sobh area- Salfit governorate
Date: July 06,2014
Perpetrators:  the sub-committee of planning
Victims: five Palestinian families from the town.

Details:

The area of Dahr es-Sobh, east of Kafr ed-Dik, has been witnessing vast acts of ravaging carried out since past April for the sake of establishing colonial outposts of which new colony will be founded on the lands of the governorate. In synchronization with aforementioned, the inspection Sub-Committee of the Israeli occupation served five demolition orders for five agricultural lands in the area of Dahr es-Sobh, four of which were “additional opportunity to object the demolition orders” and the last one included stop work order.

The occupation justified the issuance of the orders under the pretext of ”unlicensed” construction within area classified “C” according to Oslo Accords.

It is marked that the four rooms were originally used as a warehouse of agricultural tools and materials. It should also be mentioned that the aforementioned rooms had been demolished twice before by the Israeli army: the first was in December21, 2011 when three agricultural rooms were leveled, the second was in April16, 2014 where four rooms were torn down again, taking into consideration that these rooms belong to the owners who received the recent orders.

The occupation races against time:

As a side note, the coordinator of the National Committee to Defend Salfit Lands, Jamal al-Ahmad, disapproved of that the Israeli occupation served the orders.

Al-Ahmad to the LRC observer asserted that: “there are cases that await for the court sessions such like that of Afif Ahmad, and others that are under study by the so-called Supreme planning committee of the Israeli army, taking into consideration that framers had already completed the procedures of construction authorization".

The final decision, regarding the four rooms, has not been announced yet by any side of specialty of the Israeli occupation. Despite that and to our surprise, the Sub-Committee served a demolition order. On what decision does the occupation base the demolitions?”.

It should be mentioned that the area of Dahr es-Sobh is founded on more than 2000dunums of historical sites that were famous for the fertility of their lands. Those sites witnessed a huge agricultural growth where farmers spent their time in plowing and planting the lands. More than 20 reservoirs were founded in the place alongside with 30 agricultural rooms.

After had being targeted, residents of that area were totally deprived from their basic rights of planting the lands that they inherited over generations where the occupation tried to confiscate as much area as possible to the favor of colonial acts.
