Short after the complete destruction of Um Nir, southern Yatta; and soon after burying the Roman ruins, especially the grape pressers, in the area; the Israelis have started a new campaign for cleaning the ruins. According to members of Al Jbour family, the Israeli troops who destroyed their simple homes and tents many times during the year and embedded the water wells, the only cave in the village, and the ruins.
 
The testified that they had seen officers of the Israeli Ministry of Antique and a dozer approaching; they started removing the soil, which they were buried in earlier.The Israelis surrounded the ruins with huge rocks to keep ‘intruders’ away.Abu Imad al Jbour said that the colonists visit the area surrounding the ruins a lot; in a way showing their control.He believes that the Israeli cleaning of the ruins is simply taking over more Palestinian lands and probably transforming it into parks to serve the colonists.
