The village of Barta'a is located to the north of Jenin district in the West Bank. After the war that broke out between the Arab countries and the Jews and the creation of the state of Israel in 1948 the village of Barta'a was divided into two parts East and West because of its location at the border of the green line. West Barta'a is under the Israeli sovereignty and its people are having Israeli ID's , while East Barta'a is in the occupied Palestinian territories of area ''C'' and the people are having Palestinian ID's.
