Description:
In June 29th 2021 , the Israeli occupation authorities issued halt of work notices for 22 houses and facilities in As-Sawiya village in Nablus governorate , on the pretext of building without a license.
An army force accompanied by the building and organization officer at the Civil Administration raided the village , the building inspector wrote the notices , hanged them on the targeted structures and took pictures of them before withdrawing.
The notices were entitled “Halt of work- construction notice” that ordered the immediate stoppage of construction works and sat July 26th 2021 as the date of the building and organization session in Beit El military court to decide the fate of the structure.
As-Sawiya village council head Mohammed Abu Ar-Ras said that he submitted a petition through the Jerusalem Legal Aid center , which in turn contacted all the affected to file a joint petition.

As-Sawiya village:
20 km south Nablus city , As-Sawiya is surrounded by Yatma and Yasouf (north) , Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqi (west) , Talfit and Qablan (east) and Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqi and “Eli” Israeli illegal settlement (south).
- As-Sawiya has a population of (2761) people according to 2017 census.
- As-Sawiya has a total area of 10,733 dunums , of which 310 dunums are a built up area for the village.
