The violation details
On Wednesday, February 9, 2022, the Israeli occupation authorities issued final orders to stop work and demolish an agricultural dwelling and cistern, owned by Mr. Shehadeh Ibrahim Abu al-Kabbash, under the pretext that they were built without permissions, in the town of Samu’, south of Hebron.
The affected citizen, 50 years, explained that the copies of the demolition orders were found hanging on the walls of the agricultural dwelling and on the cistern.
Abu Al-Kabash owns a 20-dunum piece of land in the area of “: Khallet Al Nias” south of the town of As-Samu’, of which about 13 dunums are planted with olives, grapes and figs, and the remaining areas are planted with winter crops. In 2019, he got a cistern built with a capacity of 100 m3, from reinforced concrete. In the year 2020, he also got an agricultural residence built with brick walls and a roof made of tin plates, with an area of 25 square meters, as a resting place, and store for agricultural tools.

About five month before the demolition orders were issued, the occupation authorities had notified the owner to stop work and construction in the agricultural dwelling and water cistern under the pretext of not having licenses, then, the citizen managed to present on time a legal file requesting licensing for both structures, however, the occupation authorities rejected this request and issued orders to demolish these facilities.

On February 9, 2022, the occupation authorities re-issued two demolition orders, the first carries the number of 61672, which targets the agricultural dwelling, and the second carries the number of 61673 which targets the water cistern. In the two orders, they demanded the immediate demolition of the two structures and threatened that in the case of failure to do so, the two orders will be implemented by the issuing party and incurring the costs of the demolition process on the owner, while disclaiming responsibility for the assets inside the buildings.

Abu Al-Kabash supports a family of 9, including 5 children, and among them there are 3 girls. Abu al-Kabash commented on this issue by saying that the occupation authorities, through their insistence on issuing demolition orders, aim to extract lands from their owners as a preliminary step towards total acquisition for future Israeli colonial plans.
About 900 meters away from the target land, is the “Asae’l” settlement, which is built on lands confiscated from the residents of Al-Samu’, and overlooks the “Khallet Al Nias” area and the lands of Abu Al-Kabbash. At a time when the occupation authorities insist on demolishing the facilities and buildings of the Palestinian citizens, they are expanding the settlement of “Asae’l” and establishing new colonial buildings in it, as well as providing it with all necessary infrastructures.
