- Violation: damage to 28 olive groves.
- Location: Al-Mughayer Village / Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.
- Violation date: 06/05/2022 AD.
- The aggressor: a group of settlers in the random outpost located there.
- Victims: farmer Sameh Ahmed Al-Naasan.
Violation details:
On Friday morning, May 06, 2022 AD, a group of settlers of the colonial outposts lying on the ruins of the occupation camp “Jebe’t” On Friday morning, May 06, 2022, destroyed 28 olive plantations in an agricultural land of 2 dunums, owned by the farmer Sameh Ahmed Al-Naasan, who supports a family of (6) members, including (2) females.
The affected farmer, Ahmed Al-Naasan, told the Land Research Center’s field researcher the following:
“My land I inherited from my father and he cultivated for many years, and this year I planted it with olive plantations and fenced part of the plot. Over the past three months I have been irrigating the planting and taking care of it periodically. I received a call on Friday from a neighboring farmer, and he told me that the settlers had destroyed the planting olives and threw them on the side of the plot”.
It must be mentioned that the agricultural land is located at a distance of not more than 600 m from the colonial outposts, and that the settlers deliberately target the agricultural lands in the area in order to expel citizens from their lands to seize it and establish their illegal settlements on their lands.
The affected farmer also reported:
“I contacted the concerned authorities to file a complaint, and the occupation army accompanied by the occupation police came to the site, but in reality, the occupation is the real partner of the settlers in carrying out their attacks, and they did not take any action on the ground”.
Over the past three years, the field researcher has monitored a number of violations in the “Jebe’t” area, focused on the destruction of agricultural crops, the poisoning of sheep herds, and the closure of a large number of pastures there. The aim is to deport the remaining farmers in favor of expanding the colonial outposts there. It is also noted that the occupation established a colonial outpost three years ago on the ruins of an occupation camp, and since that date the outpost has expanded remarkably, and the frequency of attacks launched by settlers from that outpost against farmers in the plain of Al-Mughayyir village with the aim of emptying the area has increased.
