On January 27, 2010, The Israeli Occupation Authorities targeted Surif village with a new Israeli military order number (1/10) declaring 386 dunums of its lands as state lands and ordering village residents to evacuate lands. The lands described in the military order are marked in the map below, is adjacent to Safa village owned and cultivated by 5 villagers; following are the names of the owners:

Surif is an agricultural base community with 40.7% of the village income dependent on the agricultural, and a total of 20% of the population are total dependent on land for securing their daily life

Israeli settlers and Israeli Army constant attacks on the village has been going on for many years aiming to drive Palestinians out of their land and eventually denying them access to it. The following are records of most recent attacks on the Palestinian farmers there:

31 January 2010. Israeli occupation forces stopped local farmers of Safa Village and international solidarity actives from planting olive trees in the land owned by Sleibi and Thalji families, declaring their lands as closed military area.

22 June 2009. Israeli occupation forces chased of Palestinian farmers out of their lands, while settlers set fire to 170 trees (olives and grapes), owned by locals from Safa.
‘Surif’ village an overview:
An agricultural based Palestinian village, located 18 km north of the governorate of Hebron. The town is bordered by Beit-Ummar and Safa villages to the east, Al Jab’a to the north. The village of Surif is inhabited by 13,365 (PCBS 2007).
To the North East of Surif, the Israeli settlements of Kfar Etzion and Bat Ayn were founded on 2,863 Dunums of the village open space and know extracted permenatly from the village area by the 9Km Israeli segregation wall tearing Surif’s village lands.
To conclude :
Further denial of basic human rights and violations of international Law, can only be received as endangering elements to the prospects of security in the region.

Article 147 of the Fourth Geneva Convention indicated that: Extensive destruction and appropriation of property not justified by military necessity and carried out unlawfully and wantonly. is a grave breach of the Convention.

Under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted and proclaimed by General Assembly resolution 217 A (III) of, December 10, 1948, Article 17 reads: ‘No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.’ Which mean Israeli occupying administration is band from destroying or confiscating the property of the Palestinians at any case

2. Considers that all legislative and administrative measures and actions taken by Israel, including expropriation of land and properties thereon, which tend to change the legal status of Jerusalem are invalid and cannot change that status;
3. Urgently calls upon Israel to rescind all such measures already taken and to desist forthwith from taking any further action which tends to change the status of Jerusalem;
