Description:
Tuesday, September 1st , a massive army force raided Ma’aser Ghzayyel area east Jaloud village , Nablus governorate and halted work on an agricultural road.
Abdullah Mohammed, Jaloud village council head told LRC:
“About 12:30 pm, while the machineries were working on the road opening, I noticed mobilization in Ahia colony east the village , I was worried that the occupation forces may come to confiscate the machineries , so I told the drivers to take them back to their homes . Only few minutes later the occupation forces who apparently received a call from colonists came by and asked about the machineries.
The road is being implemented by the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committee with fund from United Nations Development Program, it was supposed to be 500 m * 6 m , and when implementation is complete it will facilitate farmer’s access to that location.”
Noteworthy, only 420 m were implemented out of 500 m, only on the earliest phase of the road opening.
The road provides access to agricultural lands surrounded by three colonies and outposts, such as : “Shilo and Shevout Rahel”, Amiha , Adei Ad and Jolan Tzion , and on the south “Ahia” colony .

Jalud is located 29km to the southeast of Nablus city and is edged by Qusra village from the northeast, Qaryut village from the west, Yesh Kodish and Ahya outposts from the east and Shilo colony from the south.
Its population mounts up to 598 people (2014 census). Jalud’s total land area is 22,473 dunums, of 80 dunums are considered the village’s built-up area.
Israeli colonies confiscated 2227 dunums from Jalud lands. Shilo colony that was established in 1978 confiscated 640 dunums from the village. Mizpe Rahel colony and other outposts namely (Yesh Kodish, Ahya, Eli, Adi Ad and Kida) are founded on confiscated lands from the village.
Bypass roads confiscated around 436 dunums from the village.
The lands of Marda are classified according to Oslo Accords as the following:
- 5541 dunums (25%) are classified as area B.
- 16932 dunums (75%) are classified as area C.
