Thursday June 18th 2020 , the Israeli occupation targeted a room built of mud in Humsa At-Tihta , on an area also known as “Basaliya” and gave citizen Karima Bsharat (67) a military notice entitled “stop destroying antiquities” , and according to notice number (00420) the occupation forced the inhabitants of the residential room to evict, before they carry out the operation.
The targeted room is inhabited by its owner for more than 40 years and has a total area of 18 m2. Karima told LRC that the area does not consist of any remains , and was never targeted before , the occupation’s real intention is to empty the Jordan Valley area under any possible pretext.
During the last few years , several houses in the Jordan Valley were notified under claims of illegal usage of a site of antiquities , while the real objective is to empty the area to keep it as a reserve for annexation.
Humsa At-Tihta hamlet is a part of the northern Jordan Valley , most of its inhabitants are originally from Tammun village (Bsharat and Odeh families), they depend mainly on Herding and agriculture for living , while they live in tents and Barracks , the occupation considers the community illegal, and tries to forcedly displace its people, the community is inhabited by 86 people, most of them are children in 13 families.
