Description:
Wednesday 15th January 2020 , The Israeli occupation authorities issued an eviction order on a plot that belongs to Hani Milhem , under claims that the plot is in the “custody” of the Israeli occupation.
Milhem told LRC reporter:
“I found three copies of the military order thrown in the plot in “Wadi Ad-Dur” area north-west Halhul.”
The military order was reportedly issued by “The Israeli occupation army – The civil administration – the responsible on government properties” it was entitled “a notice of eviction”, and numbered (001303) , and attached by maps and aerial images showing the targeted plot.

The occupation authorities claim that the plot is in the custody of the Israeli state , while the owner has ownership deeds that proves he inherited the plot from his father.
At the military order, the occupation authorities requested (raising hands off the plot and return it to its previous status) within 45 days of the issuing date.
The targeted plot has an area of 5.5 dunums , and the owner rehabilitated it with the aid of the Palestinian ministry of Agriculture in 2018,the process included planting trees and building a retaining wall.
Eviction means demolishing the retaining walls, the cisterns and every structure in the plot, it also means uprooting trees and stop using the plot, the owner can file an objection against such a military order , but such objections are usually refused.

It is 7km north Hebron city and is around 36,849 dunums in area; 9000 dunums of which are built up area where the rest is planted with grapes, peach and almond trees. The town is 1027 m above sea level and is considered the highest point in the West Bank. It has a total population of 27,031 people (Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics 2017)
The occupation confiscated (847.5) dunums for the following purposes:
- “Karmei Zur” settlement devoured 116 dunums when it was established in 1984.
- Bypasses 60 and 35 devoures 698 dunums.
- Military camps devoured (33.5) dunums.

- Area A: (4,165) dunums.
- Area B: (21,899) dunums.
- Area C: (10,785) dunums.
