Date: 07, 13/07/2015
Perpetrators: Planning and Construction Committee- Israel Civil Administration
Victims: 12 families
Details:
The so-called Planning and Construction Committee- Israel Civil Administration on July 2015 raided the Jericho village of Jiftlik and delivered stop-work orders to five families on their structures and barns under the claim of them being located in area classified “C” according to Oslo Accords. It should be marked that the notified structures were gifted by ACTED association for Humanitarian Aid to reinforce the steadfastness of the area’s residents.
The same incident was repeated on July 13, 2015 where the Planning and Construction Committee- Israel Civil Administration notified 7 families with stop-work on their structures under the claim of “unlicensed construction”.
According to the military order, the affected people were given a deadline until July 27 to complete all licensing procedures. This comes in time with the hearing session of the Israeli Inspection Committee in the court of Beit El colony to consider the status of the notified structures. The following table shows information about the affected people due to the orders:

It should be marked that the village of Jiftlik received, during the past three years, more than 40 demolition orders on residential and agricultural structures under the claim of “unlicensed construction”, taking into account that the Israeli occupation authorities never grant building licenses for Palestinians.
The chairman of the village council Othman El-‘Onoz said the following: “All of the Israeli displacement plans will fail because the residents of the area are bound to their lands and it is not easy to uproot them”.
The Israeli occupation has always been working to punish the people of Jiftlik, whose main source of income is agriculture, through imposing closures, confiscating lands, and imposing restrictions on lands access. Not only that, the occupation transformed vast area of lands into closed military training zones and confiscated around 32 water wells from the area.
