Furthermore, the Israeli Occupation Forces attacked Al Farisiyya and demolished two residential tents and a shack, the property of Abu Mehsen family in Al Farisiyya. The Israelis justify the recent demolitions by claiming that the structures are placed in a closed military zone; knowing that people of Al Mayta have been living there for more than 40 years.

Strangling Palestinians Living in Wadi al Maleh:
The Israeli Occupation Authorities have recently intensified their measures against the Palestinians residing in Wadi al Maleh through more checkpoints, isolating the area, and preventing herders from exploiting the huge rangelands stretching all around.
The most recent operation was the demolitions carried out in May, 2011 which is part of the Israeli Occupation ethnic cleansing policy.
The Israelis tend to replace the Palestinian residents with Israeli colonists who follow the Israeli agenda of taking over land and water resources in the Jordan valley area. The Israelis have turned most of the Jordan valley area into military zones that only the Palestinians are unable to access whereas Israeli colonists can exploit it the way they like.
Picture 2: closed military zone – training ground
On the other hand, the area had witnessed extensive training operations from the early morning hours of May 30, 2011 till June 1, 2011. Israeli air force jets flew on low altitudes in addition to hundreds of soldiers who were deployed in the area. The soldiers used live ammunition nearby the Palestinian residential areas (Jiftlik, Samra, Al Hadidiyya, Beit Dajan, and others) during their trainings.
The Jordan Valley area is considered one of the most important training grounds for the Israeli Army. They use various types of weapons during the skirmishes that take place all around the year; such skirmishes have drastic effects on the environment. 38 Palestinians were killed as a result of the Israeli Army trainings in the area, besides, hundreds of people were injured and some of them became disabled. Moreover, thousands of Palestinian families have been deprived from their source of income because of confiscation of land and herds.
