Violation: forcing four families to dismantle their residential tents, inhabited by 30 people including 14 children.
Location: Mayta – Tubas.
Date: June 5, 2012.
Perpetrators: the Israeli Occupation Army.
Victims: residents of Mayta.
Details:
Another step towards ethnically cleansing the Jordan Valley area was taken on June 5, 2012 when Israeli troops broke into Al Mayta area and handed 4 families eviction orders for their residential tents to be carried out within 24 hours.
The families were forced to dismantle their tents and move to Al Maleh area, 2 km away, to avoid demolition. The Israelis claim that the area is a closed military zone and that no one is allowed to stay in. Most of the Palestinian communities in the Jordan Valley area are not recognized by Israel and many faced mass expulsion operations carried out by the Israeli Army. Mayta suffered a similar blow when 67 people, the population of the community, were deported before their houses were demolished.

The Israelis did not stick to the respite they gave; two hours after handing the orders, an Israeli force accompanied by a dozer demolished all the structures that were not dismantled. It added to the misery of the people who have been exhausted by injustice, cruelty, and poverty and were deprived from their most basic rights.
