Violation: leveling structures
Location: Fasayil Al-Wusta village- Jericho
Date: August 18, 2015
Perpetrators: the Israeli occupation army
Victims: seven Bedouin families (40 members including 25 children)
Details:
The village of Fasayil, north Jericho governorate has been witnessing a new occupational plan aiming at displacing and deporting indigenous residents in a step to empty the Palestinian Jordan valley (al-Ghoor) for the favor of the colonial expansion. It should be marked that people of Fasayil hail from Negev and have been residing the area for over 30 years. Noteworthy, all of the village’s structures have been served either a stop-work or demolition orders at some point.
A force from the Israeli occupation army accompanied by the Planning and Construction Committee- Israel Civil Administration and two military dozers on August 18, 2015 raided the village and declared the area a closed military zone. The dozers, then, embarked on demolishing a number of residences, barns and barracks in the Bedouin communities of Arab Abu Kharbish, Arab Al-Zaid and I’bayyat.
The attack resulted in the displacement of seven families (40 members including 25 children) and the demolition of 5 barracks for sheep.
It should be marked that residents of the aforementioned area received stop-work orders on their structures in 2013. Noteworthy, the Israeli occupation authorities refused all resident’s attempt to license their structures.

Home demolition: A crime against humanity
This policy has been conducted by the Israeli occupation army and colonists as well since the year 1967 for the sake of emptying the Palestinian territories from indigenous people and replace them with Israeli colonists.
It should be marked that such a policy contradicts with all international laws and human rights covenants in terms it violates the right to adequate housing. Not only it violates the right of houses’ owners in obtaining building permits but also violates their families’ rights to housing. This proves that such a policy is considered a collective punishment against Palestinians in particular and humanity in general.
