- Violation date: 18/07/2022.
- Location: Ihmeida village – Yatta Badia / Hebron Governorate.
- The aggressor: the so-called civil administration of the occupation.
- Victims: Citizens of the Najada family.
The details:
On 18/07/2022, the Israeli occupation authorities notified to stop work and construction in inhabited and under-construction houses, under the pretext of building them without a license, in the village of “Ihmeida-Al-Najada” east of Yatta town, south of Hebron Governorate.
Mr. Salim Al-Najada, head of the village council, stated that a military vehicle belonging to the occupation army, accompanied by another vehicle belonging to the so-called Organization and Construction Department in the “Civil Administration”, had raided the village and toured between its houses. The so-called building inspector wrote down the notices and affixed them to the threatened buildings, and took pictures of them before leaving the place.
The notifications came under the title “Notification to stop work – construction”, in which the occupation authorities ordered to immediately stop construction work under the pretext of proceeding with it without a license from the authority. Since the houses are located in the classified area “C”, the date of 3/8/2022 AD, was sit as a date for a session of the so-called The Inspection Subcommittee, which will hold its session at its headquarters in the Beit El settlement, it will discuss what it called (the demolition of the building or the return of the place to its previous state). The following table shows the names of the citizens whose homes were threatened:
- The village of Ihmeida or Al-Najada is located to the east of Yatta town, about 18 km away from it. It is one of the villages of the Eastern Badia, which is inhabited by citizens of the Najada family.
- The population of the village is about (750 people), according to the estimates of the village council, and its residents work in agriculture, livestock, other labor market and in government jobs.
- In the village, there is a secondary school, a kindergarten, a mosque and a women’s center, and it is run by a village council, under which the village of Al-Daqarah, from which the people of the village of Ihmeida originate, are included.
- In terms of infrastructure in the village, it is served by a network of roads, most of which are paved, and the village is connected to an electricity network, and a water network to which water is pumped once or twice a month for a limited number of hours.
- In terms of construction and organization, the head of the village council stated that the village has a plan known or called (blue line), which is the area that the occupation authorities (the Organization Department of the Civil Administration) granted to citizens to build within, without demolishing their homes or giving notices there, which is the closest thing be to the Structural chart.
- However, the head of the village council made it clear that the houses that the occupation targeted with the new notifications are located in this area, and it seems that there is a new policy with the occupation authorities regarding such areas.
