It is noteworthy that the targeted land was planted at the beginning of this year with 170 five-year-old olive trees. The targeted land is located at a distance of about one kilometer to the north of the town Kafr ad-Dik , where the occupation authorities have established an industrial zone called “Eli Zahav” near to the land. It is noteworthy that the land is owned by the farmer Saleh Ali Muhammad who is the breadwinner of a family of 7 children, including 3 girls.
According to LRC’s monitoring and documentation, farmer Saleh was exposed to an attack by a group of settlers whilst he was cultivating his land at the beginning of this year during which 80 olive seedlings were stolen by the settlers before they were planted, in addition to the confiscation of his tractor at the hands of the occupation army on the pretext of illegally entering a government property.
It is noteworthy that the LRC’s field researcher, over the past years, has monitored dozens of attacks carried out by the settlers in that particular area , including stealing and/or cutting of olive seedlings, destroying agricultural crops, beatings of farmers and denying Palestinian access to the area.
