Description:
Agricultural roads are the viability of Palestinian farmers’ steadfastness, under the continuous Israeli attack on the Palestinian agricultural sector , reflected through confiscation and Judaization policies.
Thursday, February 13th 2020, the Israeli Occupation forces raided “Khallet An-Nasheet” west Deir Istiya in Salfit governorate, and forced the contractor under gun threats to halt work on an agricultural road “800 m * 4 m”. The Occupation forces forced machineries to halt works and forced them to evict the area , noting that the rehabilitation is being implemented by Union of Agricultural Work Committee , and the road was supposed to serve 150 dunums of olive and almond groves.

Deir Istiya village council head Nathmi Salman told LRC the following:
“Khallet An-Nasheet is known for its unique agricultural nature and has always been a target for both Israeli authorities and colonists. The area is only 300 m away from Nofim and Yakir colonies. Rehabilitating the road was with the aim to support farmers’ steadfastness in the area and facilitate access to their farmlands, but the occupation hinders any developmental projects in the area to keep the plot empty for future colonial projects.”
