Description:
In February 2020, West Bank army commander issued a demolition military order for Qassam Al-Barghuthi house in Kubar village north Ramallah , The order did not include a specific date for the demolition , this have been preceded by an army force accompanied by a team of surveyors raid to the house and took its sizes in November 7th 2019 , under security claims.
Reportedly, the targeted house consists of two floors (160 m2) for each , the first floor belongs to Qassam’s aunt , while the second floor belongs to Qassam’s mother and he lives in it with her and (His father , His brother’s Karmel wife and her two children) , noting that Qassam’s brother Karmel was also arrested by the Occupation authorities.
The Occupation Authorities arrested Qassam Al-Barghuthi (20) following accusations of involving in carrying out an attack against Israeli soldiers and/or settlers. Since that day, the Occupation forces have been raiding the house on a daily basis , in addition to arresting and interrogating almost all his family members (his father, mother , and brother Karmel).

It should be marked that the order was issued in reference to the British Emergency Law for the year 1945, taking into consideration that this law was abolished. “Confiscation and demolition” according to article 119 of the law indicates that it is not allowed to re-construct in the demolition location. The Israeli government claims such orders to be deterrent for Palestinians who carry out stabbing or killing attacks. Such attacks come in response for colonists’ attacks on Palestinians, the latest of which was represented in torching a family alive, not mentioning running over kids and women, attacks on trees (torching , cutting down, robbing) and lands confiscation.

Kubar has a population of (4,320) people in 2017 census, and an area of 9,905 dunums, of which 711 dunums are the town’s built up area.
