Description:
Tuesday , 13 august 2019, the Israeli occupation authorities served halt of work orders on structures and facilities in She’ab Al-Butum.
Affected citizens said that a vehicle related to the building and organization department raided the area , and headed to the targeted structures , then the inspecting officer wrote military orders , pasted them on the structures , then took pictures before withdrawing.
The occupation forces requested the immediate stoppage of construction works on the pretext of building without licenses , and set (8/9/2019) , as the subcommittee session in Beit El military court to decide the fate of the structure.
The notices targeted the following owners and structures:
- Yousif Aj-Jabareen: Yousif received a halt of work notice on his residence ( which is a one room structure built of bricks and steal sheets) , it has an area of 30 m2 , and was built in 2018 , with the funding of a human rights institution. The room was inhabited by a family of 4 , 2 of them are children.

2 – Mahmoud Aj-Jabareen : Mahmoud received a halt of work notice on his family’s residence, which is a small room built of bricks and steal sheets , it has an area of 35 m2 , built in 2018 with the funding of a human right institution , and inhabited by a family of 2.
The notice also targeted a barn belongs to Mahmoud Aj-Jabareen , the targeted barn is built of cement and stones and has an area of 120 m2.

4- Ismael Aj-Jabareen: Ismael received a halt of work order on the family’s house which is built of bricks and steal sheets , it has an area of 30 m2 , and inhabited by a family of 2. The notice also targeted a cattle barn with an area of 20 m2 and built of brocks and steal sheets.

Noteworthy, the occupation authorities issue halt of work notices as a preceding procedure before a final demolition order. Usually, after receiving halt of work orders citizens prepare a licensing file to prove that they own the targeted land or structure area , then hire a lawyer to follow up the case in the Israeli court .
Recent studies conducted by the anti-colonization Israeli institution “Peace now” showed that only 1.5 % of the licenses applied by Palestinians are approved , and between the years (2010 -2014) Palestinian applied for 2020 licenses in C area , only 33 were approved, that is a percentage of 1.5 %.

Khirbet She’ab Al-Butum is located in Masafer Yatta, bordered by Khallet Ad-Dabe’a (east), bypass 317 (west), Al-Qawawis and Al-Karmel (north + south) , the Khirbet has an area of 110 dunums , and inhabited by 9 families that consist of 81 people , 37 of them are children, their homes are 7 tents , 3 barracks and a caravan, Residents of the Khirbet depend mainly on herding for living , the Khirbet consists of 443 cattle heads, 82 agricultural dunums , of which trees only cover 10 dunums and the rest are postures.
