• Location: Deir Nizam village north of Ramallah.
• Date: 22/07/2017.
• Perpetrators: the Israeli occupation army.
• Victims: the villagers.
Details:
On Saturday morning, July 22, 2017, the Israeli Occupation Forces close closed the northern entrance to Deir Nizam village with road blocks and earth mounds. Noteworthy, the closure of that entrance was under the pretext of security.
Reportedly, the closure of the main entrance to the village of Deir Nizam has been repeated several times since the beginning of the current year 2017, causing the disruption of the movement of citizens and their connection with the Palestinian periphery, knowing that this entrance is the main entrance of the village, which populates approximately 1400 people.
The occupation closed the southern entrance in 2000 to satisfy the desire of the settlers of the colony of "Hamish" in the same time of the Al-Aqsa Intifada that year.

About Halmish:
Halmish area nowadays is 2510 dunums, inhabited by around 1100 colonists. The establishment of Halmish resulted in the loss of over 1000 dunums of agricultural lands which caused drastic damage to agriculture and the economy of An Nabi Saleh. The rise of the Israeli right wing to power has accelerated colonial expansions in the West Bank; the last Israeli government was a government of "colonists" who supported colonization and capture of Palestinian properties. They also offered colonists with support and protection throughout their aggressions against the Palestinians. Colonization is the most visible obstacle of peace but the Israeli refuse to even freeze it as it serves their "bigger" plan.
Land Research Center sees that the policy of roads closures as a collective punishment to limit down Palestinians' movement.
