Violation: eviction order on 26 dunums
Location: Qarawat Bani Hasan-Salfit
Date: September 16, 2015
Perpetrators: Israel Nature Authority
Victims: two agricultural families from the area
Details:
The area of Bir Abu Ammar (1100 dunums), northwest the village of Qarawat Bani Hasan is considered one of the agricultural areas that generate income for several families from the village. Not only that, the area has a huge water reservoir that supplies the village with its needs from drinking water and irrigation water as well.
The Israeli occupation authorities in 1985 declared the area as a natural reserve in order to steal the land and Judaize it.
A staff from Israel Nature Authority on September 16, 2015 hanged two military orders on a fence that surrounds a 26 dunum plot. The plot was planted with 123 olive seedlings 4-7 years ago to protect the land from takeover.

The occupation justified the operation under the claim that the olives were planted within area classified as natural reserve, taking into account that the plot is owned by two Palestinian families. The notified people were given a 48 hour deadline to uproot the seedlings and restore the previous status of the plot. The following table shows information about the affected and their plot:

It should be marked that the area of Bir Abu Ammar witnessed over the past five years a wave of attacks and violations against Palestinian land and human.
During 2012, Israel Nature Authority notified 500 dunums from the area of Bir Abu Ammar of eviction under the claim of the area being classified as natural reserve. The notified owners are namely (Ibrahim ‘Asi, Yousef Mir’i, Sabir Mir’i and Ismael Salloum).
Before 2012, the Israeli occupation army confiscated the machineries used in the rehabilitation of 500 dunums. Despite all obstacles, the Palestinian farmers insist on taking care of their lands to protect them from colonial plans.
