On 28/01/2013, dozers of the Israeli occupation municipality and Environmental protection ministry ravaged agricultural lands in Wad Al-Rababa neighborhood in Silwan. The lands belong to a citizen of the name of Abdul-Menim Shweiki and their area is 40m2 . The Israeli occupation dozers also defaced a house that is owned by Ayman Shuqair under the pretext of being unlicensed.
Orabi Shuqair, Ayman’s father, told an LRC observer that: " We own this patch of land since 1954. 12 years ago, my son Ayman (35 years old) built a residential house on this land that we originally bought from Somrin family and still have the legal documents that prove that. Ayman build the house to settle down with his family. He is a father to two- Jamila, 7, and Ameer, 1.
He also added," I tried to teach the place but the Israeli police stopped me and an officer with a dog chased after me and threatened me that if I do not retreat back, he will order the dog to bite me. My wife was screaming before she passed out. The Israeli soldiers did not allow the ambulance to arrive. We had to carry her 300m before getting an ambulance.
The demolition operation ended at 3:30 p.m. I headed to the place again to see it immersed in dust. The house was demolished with all the furniture in. Ayman and his family could not bear the sight; they moved to Al-Ramla city where they rented a house.
