orders handed to families
It must be noted that Palestinian communities in the Jordan Valley has been set as an Israeli target since the Israeli takeover in 1967. it has been considered as important as Jerusalem for the Israeli colonial plans. Al Ras al Ahmar, which is inhabited by 137 people has had all its structures threatened with imminent demolitions.
Israeli troops stand in the face of any sort of expansion as any Palestinian who adds even a toilet to his/ her residence finds a demolition order ready for him. The Israelis claim that the area is a closed military zone which Palestinians are not allowed to access.

Suffering in the Jordan Valley:
The Palestinian communities in the Jordan Valley have been suffering since the Israeli Occupation of the West Bank in 1967. the Israeli declared a huge portion of the area as closed military zone in order to prevent any possible Palestinian expansion or development.
In addition, the Israelis planted a large number of colonies in the area as well as taking over all the natural resources, especially water ones which were put under the control of the colonies. The Israelis also cut all the routes leading to the Palestinian communities in the area by placing checkpoints in an attempt to isolate these communities. In addition, thousands of kilometers of trenches have been dug in and around the area. However, worst of all is the large area of mine fields spreading all around the area.
Meanwhile, the Israelis have been offering colonies spreading all around the Jordan Valleys with all the infrastructure and services needed for them to expand.
