Pic.5+6: Khirbet Tana without the plastic coverings or pylons after it was confiscated.
It is worth pointing out that Khirbet Tana is classified within the agricultural lands of the village of Beit Furik. The exceptional climate the Khirbet has as well as the availability of a number of water springs made the khirbet the perfect place for agricultural activities throughout the seasons. However, the relatively low number of its residents as well as its vast area has made the Khirbet a prime target for the Israeli occupations’ policies aimed at the expulsion of the residents to take advantage of the empty lands. Currently, every structure in the Khirbet (including tents, bruxes, etc) has a Stop work Order. Also, over the past 5 years, the Khirbet was demolished 4 times while the Israeli High Court of “Justice” issued a decision in 2009 declaring the Khirbet as “Not Recognized”. Since then, the ghost of demolition hovers over the Khirbet as the 4 demolitions has taken place after the court’s decision was handed down leading to the homelessness of a large number of the Khirbet’s population.
