Halt of Work Notices for Structures in Khashem Al-Karm area / south Hebron

Description:

Saturday , August 10^th 2022 , the Israeli Occupation authorities served halt of work notices for houses , facilities and a mosque on the pretext of building without a license in Khashm Al-Karm east Yatta , south Hebron governorate.

Khashm Al-Karam village council head ‘Adel Najada said:

“A vehicle belongs to the building and organization department at the civil administration and a military vehicle raided the area about 10:00 in the morning , the building inspector wrote the notices , hanged them on the targeted structures then withdrew.”

The Occupation authorities targeted the village mosque and the attached bathrooms and a number of houses and facilities at the village.

The notices were entitled “halt of work – construction notice” , and ordered the immediate stoppage of construction works , on the pretext of building without a license in area C.

The Occupation Authorities Targeted Bilal Bin Rabah mosque which was built in 2021 , and an outdoor bathroom related to the mosque.

The targeted structure is built on a public plot, and has a total area of (150 m²) , and it is registered in the name of the Waqf.

In addition, Citizen Nayef An-Najada received a halt of work notice for his small project , a pergola that he uses as a small coffee shop for visitors to the eastern desert , noting that the project strated in 2020, and the owner was living in fear everyday from the demolition operations at the area.

Noteworthy, Nayef supports his own family and his mother who suffers from Kidney Failure and this used to be his only source of income.

Khashem Al-Karam:

Khashm Al-Karam village is located to the east of Yatta , only (20 km) away , and considered a part of Yatta eastern desert , it is inhabited by people from An-Najada clan , most of them depend on agriculture and cattle breeding for living.
