Under Security Claims , the Occupation Leveled two houses in Sila Al-Harithiya / Jenin governorate

  • Location: Sila Al-Harithiya village / West Jenin city.

  • Victims: House of Ghaith Jardat Family, and Prisoner Mohammed Jaradat.

Description:

Massive army forces accompanied by explosives specialists on Tuesday March 8th 2022 , Raided Sila al-Harithiya village west Jenin city , and targeted Aj-Jaradat neighborhood northwest the village . The forces imposed a curfew at the area , and explode two houses belong to families of Prisoner Ghaith Jaradat and Mohammed Jaradat.

Exploding house of citizen Ghaith Jaradat:

The Occupation Destroyed the first floor that belongs to family of prisoner Ghaith Jaradat , through hand demolition of walls and floors according to field observation at the location , the targeted house consists of two floors with a total area of 140 m2 for each floor , the first floor is inhabited by prisoner Ghaith and his brothers Miqdam ,  Mohtasib , and Handi in addition to the father and the mother (6 family members), while the second floor is inhabited by brothers of prisoner Osaid , his wife and children (4 members).

Exploding house of citizen Mohammed Jaradat:

Only 150 m away is house of citizen Yousif Jaradat, where the occupation planted explosives to destroy a two store building (with a total area of 130 m2 for each) , that belongs to family of Yousif Jaradat , who lives at the first floor with his wife and two daughters, while in the second floor, his son Ibeahim and the family live , the occupation used explosives to destroy the whole building.

Also Earlier in February 14th 2022, the occupation exploded house of citizen Mahmoud Jaradat, the house consists of two floors ,the first floor consists of two small apartments (each one has a total area of 90 m2) , one if them is inhabited by the prisoner’s mother and two sisters (3 females) , and the second floor is inhabited by family of the brother of martyr Mahdi Jaradat , the family consists of 5 family members (Mahdi’s brother, his wife and three children) . While the second apartment belongs to family of prisoner Mahmoud Jaradat (Husband , wife and three children). The apartment has a total area of 165 m2, For more information read LRC report.

Noteworthy , the Israeli supreme court refused the petition filed by the three families trough HaMoked institution early last February, and decided to explode the houses.

The Israelis claims that three prisoners from Jaradat family  opened gun fire against Israelis north Nablus in 16 December.Security Demolition, a collective punishment policy:

It should be marked that the order was issued in reference to the British Emergency Law for the year 1945, taking into consideration that this law was abolished. “Confiscation and demolition” according to article 119 of the law indicates that it is not allowed to re-construct in the demolition location. The body of the article is as follows:

PART XII – MISCELLANEOUS PENAL PROVISIONS

Regulation 119 – Forfeiture and demolition of property, etc. 119.

(1) A Military Commander may by order direct the forfeiture to· the Government of Palestine of any house, structure, or land from which he has reason to suspect that any firearm has been illegally discharged, or any bomb, grenade or explosive or incendiary article illegally thrown, or of any house, structure or land situated in any area, town, village, quarter or street the inhabitants or some of the inhabitants of which he is satisfied have committed, or attempted to commit, or abetted the commission of, or been accessories after the fact to the commission of, any offence against these Regulations involving violence or intimidation or any Military Court offence ; and when any house, structure or land is forfeited as aforesaid, the Military Commander may destroy the house or the structure or anything on growing on the land.

(2) Members of His Majesty’s forces or of the Police Force,· acting under the authority of the Military Commander may seize and occupy, without compensation, any property in any such area, town, village, quarter or street as is referred to in sub-regulation (1), after eviction without compensation, of the previous occupiers, if any.

Since Al-Quds uprising of 2015 until the end of 2021, Israeli Occupation Forces demolished 92 residences, of which 4 were demolished in 2021, while 82 houses were partially damaged during the operations. Demolitions were carried out as a collective punishment on the families of those accused of resisting the Israeli occupation.

Reportedly, In the first 6 months of 2022 , the occupation forces demolished 5 houses under security claims (4 of them are in Jenin , and the 5th is in Jerusalem).
