Akaba village council head Tayseer ‘Amarneh told LRC:

“Most of the houses recently notified are within the village’s physical expansion area. The occupation have been heavily targeting ‘Akaba , and already served seven notices on agricultural and residential structures in the village close to the apartheid wall. Noteworthy, since the construction of the apartheid wall in 2002 , people of the village have been suffering from continuous assaults.”

‘Akaba village is located 32 kilometers north Tulkarim , and has a total area of 2500 dunums, of which 144 dunums are a built up area for the village, while 2000 dunums were isolated behind and under the apartheid wall, these lands used to be planted with field crops and fruitful olive trees. There is also one gate in the wall, it is opened only during the harvesting season. The village has a total area of 500 people according to 2017 census.
