  • Location: Fara’ata village / East Qalqilya.
  • Date: 03/11/2019.
  • Perpetrator: settlers of “Havat Gilad” outpost.
  • Victims: three farmers’ families.

Description:

Sunday morning ,  November 3rd 2019 , a group of farmers from Fara’ata village went to their olive groves close to “Havat Gilad” outpost , but was shocked to see that Israeli illegal settlers stole all the harvest . Noteworthy, owners of the olive groves are only allowed to access their properties after coordination with the occupation forces, which is something that Israeli settlers took advantage of.

Farmer Adnan Tawil told LRC the following:

“Israeli settlers stole the harvest of 26 trees aging 40 years old,  that was accompanied by sabotaging and breaking some of the trees’ branches. We face great difficulties in accessing our olive groves, Each year we are not allowed to access our plots any time expect harvesting season and with coordination with the occupation forces, for 15 years Israeli settlers steal our harvest and we find nothing at all when we manage to reach our groves, we filed several complaints , but this is obviously an organized policy to push us to give up on”.

The stolen harvest is about 780 kg, and belong to Adnan At-Taweel (9 trees) ,Ibrahim Ay-Taweel (11 trees) and Maher Yamin (6 trees).

“Havat Gilad” was established in 2002 , on confiscated lands from Tel, Jit and Fara’ata east Qalqilya. In 2010 , the Israeli supreme court issued an order that permits the occupation army to keep living in the outpost “Havat Gilad” , this followed the petition of settler Mosheh Zar , who believes that his son “Gilad Zar” was killed by Palestinians , Zar claims that he has ownership deeds on the plot of the outpost.

The attorney general of Israeli “Avichai Mandelbleit” recommended the Israeli government to legalize “Havat Gilad” outpost.

Since the establishment of the outpost , settlers are very active in torching , stealing or sabotaging harvest, they also break into Palestinian suburbs to sabotage properties and write hatred inciting slogans.
