Victims: Farmer Mohammad Motawe’a.

Description:

Israeli occupation forces raided Ein Ad-Deer area and ordered the immediate stoppage of rehabilitation work on an irrigation pool under claims that the area is a closed military zone due to its location close to the Jordanian- Palestinian border.

It is reported that the targeted pool is used to collect rain water during winter time to use in irrigation in summer.

Affected farmer Mohammad Mutawe’a told LRC observer:

“ I own a pool that provides water for 250 dunums cultivated of vegetables, grapes and palm, in august 17 I carried out rehabilitation work in my pool hoping to increase its capacity, suddenly the Israeli occupation forces raided the area and ordered the immediate stoppage of the process threatening to confiscate the used dozer”

In the recent years, the Israeli occupation has been targeting irrigation cisterns and pools attempting to cause harm to agricultural sector of Ad-Deer.

Ad-Deer area is known of its fertility and abundance of water, it contains over 2000 dunums , this area is decreasing due to Israeli assaults targeting agricultural lands and water resources. Nevertheless, Mehola settlement in Ein Al-Beida lands has devoured vast areas of agricultural lands and its settlers attack farmers on daily basis.

Ad-Deer is a part of Ein Al-Beida land and only one kilometer away from Palestinian –Jordanian border, the area was always a destination for farmers and investors in agricultural sectors.
