Betar Illit colony adds ten residential caravans at the expense of Nahhalin village’s lands

Violation: adding ten caravans

Location:  Al-Matabikh area- Nahhalin village

Date: August 08, 2017

Perpetrators: Betar Illit colonists

Victims:  residents of the village

Details:

It is reported that a group of colonists added on  August 08, 2017 ten residential caravans nearby the fence separating Betar Illit colony and Nahhalin village, more specifically in the northwestern area.

Mr. Majed Ghayatha from Nahhalin Municipality told Land Research Center the following:

" Betar Illit colonists loot our land and continue on carrying out attacks in attempt to take over the area. Lately, they set up caravans to house French visitors as they claim"

Colonial expansion via adding new residential units and ravaging more lands to accommodate new housing units creates a non-stop concern for the people of the village that the fence might be moved to loot more lands since the expansion works take place nearby the fence borders.

The colonists of Betar Illit work hard  to seize more agricultural lands relative to Wad Fukin, Nahhalin and Husan areas in attempt to implement the so-called "Greater Jerusalem" project.
