- Violation: closing the entrance of a village
- Location: Odla village- Nablus
- Date: January 19, 2016
- Perpetrators: Israeli Occupation Forces
- Victims: residents of the village
Details:
The Israeli occupation forces closed on January 19, 2016 the entrance of Odla village, south Nablus city by earth mounds. It should be marked that the entrance is considered a linking point between the village and Nablus city and other cities of the southern part of the West Bank.
The closure is reported to take place in synchronization with closing Huwwara checkpoint on the claim of developing the checkpoint's infrastructure. Now, people got forced to take substitute roads through the villages of Awarta, Odla, Beita and the bypass road number 60 to reach Ramallah city. As a result, time and travel expenses doubled.
Closing the road on claim of "security purposes" will force the residents of the village to take unpaved and rough roads. Also, residents have to travel through villages and towns to reach their destinations , which will double the traveling time and expenses as well.
