Stop-work orders on residences of Khirbet Um al-Khair- Yatta

Violation:  serving stop-work and construction orders

Date:  29/03/2015

Location:  Yatta- Hebron

Perpetrators: Israel Civil Administration and army

Victims:   residents from the area

Details:

The Israeli occupation authorities on March 29, 2013 served stop-work and construction orders on 7 structures in the area of Khirbet Um al-Khair, east Yatta town. Noteworthy, the orders came under the pretext of unlicensed construction.

Citizens of the area asserted that a staff from Israel Civil Administration raided the area, issued the orders, left them by the structures, and took photos of the location before they had left.

The order set April 24, 2015 as a hearing session for the Inspection Sub-Committee in the Israeli court of Beit EL to consider whether to demolish the notified structure or restore their previous status.

The targeted structures( metal slaps) were built by the beginning of 2015 and gifted by JVC association as an aid to shelter families instead of their tents. The following table shows information about the notified people:

It should be marked that Khirbet Um al-Khair is adjacent to Karmeil colony that is located on confiscated lands from the people of Um al-Khair. The Israeli occupation authorities target the Khirbet with stop-work and demolition orders for the sake of forcing residents out of it; this would make a room for the occupation and colonists to expand their colonies in the nearby.
