Details:
On 05/10/2013, Burin- in the southern countryside of Nablus- witnessed a new wave of attacks by a group of colonists from "Yitzhar" colony. The radical colonists, under the protection of the Israeli army, harassed farmers while they were picking olives and then chased after a number of them. People of Burin defied the attack and tried to protect their lands. The Israeli army then intervened and opened live ammunition at some of the farmers and chased after some. The colonists took advantage of the messy situation to set fire to a structure near the colony and attack farmers there. The fire ate a store adjacent to a house near the location of the clashes. The fire caused total damage of the store.

Aziz Al-Najjar affirmed to an LRC observer that, "There are targeting operations by radical colonists on Burin and its people. During the past 13 years and since the breakthrough of the second Intifada in 2000, Burin has witnessed intensive attacks by extreme colonists who have attacked and destroyed houses, cut down and burnt trees and harassed farmers. Burin came to be called the "Palestinian doomed village". Since 1967, Burin has never been spared from harassment by the Israeli occupation.
