Date: 20/02/2013
Perpetrators: The Israeli occupation army
Victims: the people of Qusra village
Details:

On 20/02/2013, a large force of Israeli army accompanying a dozer raided Qusra, south of Nablus where they embarked on damaging an electrical grid that supplies the south and west sides of the village with electricity. The destruction operation also included 33 electric poles and a 3km network wires that are supposed to supply 60 houses with electricity. The electricity project was carried out a year and a half before its destruction. The Israeli occupation sent a stop-construction order for it in September, 2012 for being unlicensed in an area classified C according to Oslo Accords. Although the town council applied for a license, the Beit El court rejected the application. And so the demolition operation was carried out though 4 of the deconstructed poles are within B area according to Oslo.

A stop-construction order for a water network:

On 07/03/2013, the so-called Planning and Construction committee sent an order to stop building a water network under the pretext that part of it is within an area classified C according to Oslo and it is unlicensed. According to the military order number 150738, the Israeli occupation gave the town council a respite until 16/04/2013 to decide what to do. The date is also the meeting time for the Planning and Construction Committee in Beit El court.  According to Qusra village council, the network is 2km long and was expected to provide water for no less than 100 houses and structures. The project was expected to be a great relief, financially speaking, to the villagers who had to transfer water via portable water tanks from nearby villages. Funded by the German representative in the West Bank, the project was carried out for 4 months.

Qusra:

It is in the southeastern side of Nablus and administered by Qusra town council. The built-up area is 776 dunums which is not enough for the expansion of the population. That has led to many of the population building in the area C. Qusra has a population of 4377 people. In 1982, lands of Qusra and Jurish villages were used to build Migdalim colony which also expanded on Qusra lands. Its area reaches up to 170.6 dunums and has 152 colonists.  There are around 15 structures threatened to be demolished in Qusra and that poses a threat to the farmers of the village.
