Stop-work Orders for a Number of Structures in New’ma

 


Violation: stop-work orders for a number of residences and barns.

Date: January 3, 2013.

Victims: 9 Bedouin families, a total of 64 people including 25 children.

 

Details:

 

On January 3, 2013, the Israeli Occupation Authorities handed 9 Palestinian families stop work orders designated for a number of agricultural and residential structures. The orders were issued on the pretext of unlicensed construction in areas classified ‘C’ according to Oslo. A hearing session is to be held in Beit El Military Court on January 14, 2013 to decide on the fate of the structures. It is worthy to mention that Bedouins have been dwelling in New’ma for over 40 year; around 200 people live in the area nowadays. These dwellers received over 80 Israeli orders in recent years. The people of New’ma moved from Beer Shiva area after the Israeli occupation of Palestine in 1948.
