Colonists of Kohav Jacob continue land grabbing by adding 23 colonial units and the establishment of a road network to serve as much colonists as possible. The Israeli Government published a call for tenders for the addition of a number of colonial units in a number of colonies in February, 2012 in order to accommodate a large number of ‘Jewish’ immigrants coming to Palestine. One of these colonies was Kohav Jacob, located near Kafr Awab to the north west of Jerusalem. It is clear that the Israelis have been targeting the Palestinians very existence especially in Jerusalem area which is an axial area. These tenders have come to cope with the ‘colonies development’ on the expense of Palestinian properties, economy, and residency.

Jerusalem area is classified as occupied territories according to UN resolutions, thus, the articles of the Fourth Geneva Conventions apply, especially article 47 stating: ‘ Protected persons who are in occupied territory shall not be deprived, in any case or in any manner whatsoever, of the benefits of the present Convention by any change introduced, as the result of the occupation of a territory, into the institutions or government of the said territory, nor by any agreement concluded between the authorities of the occupied territories and the Occupying Power, nor by any annexation by the latter of the whole or part of the occupied territory. ‘

Moreover, the Israeli Occupation Authorities continue the construction of the segregation wall to capture more Palestinian lands with a purpose of creating unchangeable facts on the ground. Kohave Jacob is an Israeli colony which was established in 1984 over lands confiscated from Kafr Aqab area. The colony’s total area is 1680 dunums inhabited by 4600 colonists (2005 census).
