The Israeli Occupation Authorities notifies three Qalqilyia vilages of the extension of the capture of 800 dunums.

Violation: the Israeli Occupation Authorities notifies the inhabitants of Jynsina, An Naqoura, Beit Eba, and Zwata of the extension of the capture of 800 dunums.
Date: September 11, 2012.
Details:
On September 11, 2012, the Israeli Occupation Authorities notified the village councils of , Jynsina, An Naqoura, Beit Eba, and Zwata of the extension of the capture of 92.334 dunums according to the military order T/11/95 for the purpose of placing a ‘security strip’ around the colony of Shavi Shamron which is built over Palestinian lands.
It must be noted that the designated lands were captured in 2005 and the control over them have been extended several times. Mouhammad Mousa of Zawata Village council said: ‘the captured lands are not only 92 dunums as it was said in the order, they are actually estimated to be around 800 dunums since huge areas are isolated behind the so-called security strip. This warns of yet another disastrous olive-picking season since olive groves are to be accessed only by permission from the Israeli Occupation Army’.

The locals are afraid that this is a step towards further expansion of Shavi Shamron since almost every colony in the West Bank is undergoing expansions. Shavi shamron was established on the remains of a Jordanian Military Encampment which was abandoned after the Israeli conquest of the West Bank.
In 1978, colonists started to place mobile homes and settle in the area; their numbers and the area they captured increased with time. In 2005, the Israeli Occupation Army embarked on the execution of the separation plan which included capturing huge areas of Palestinian lands on ‘security basis’ and making access to these lands subject to Israeli permits.
