Details:

On August 27, 2012, the Israeli Occupation Civil Administration ordered the removal of solar panels that provide the people of Al Tabban with power. Khaled Umoor received the order number (149969) and entitled ‘stop work and construction order’ which was issued by the Israeli Occupation Civil Administration. The order set September 23, 2012 as the date of a hearing session to be held in Beit El Military Court to decide whether to demolish the structure or return to the status quo.

The owner said that the panels were installed 3 months ago in a project funded by the Spanish ACF. The solar panels provide his residence and his four sons residences with electricity with a capacity of 6 kw.

He said that the order is part of the Israeli overall plan for the displacement of the residents of the area. He headed to the Palestinian official bodies to object to the order and said that a file has been prepared.

He was anxious because the removal of the panels would mean that he they have to get back to traditional methods to light their nights and they won’t be able to use refrigerators and other appliances any more.
