Colonists Drain Water from a Cistern

Violation: colonists drain water from a cistern.

Date: August 13, 2012.

Perpetrators: colonists of Asfar and Mizad.

Victims: members of Al Shalalda family.

Details:

Yasin al Shalalda, one of the victims, said that on August 13, 2012, a group of colonists broke into al Seer area in Sair accompanied with a drain truck. The colonists drained the water of the cistern and pumped the water to the ground. He said that he was informed by some of the neighbors who said that they saw the colonists’ car coming from Asfar colony towards the cistern.

He said that the cistern water was used to feed over 2000 ruminants with water and the colonists were determined to cut the water supply. Hundreds of cubic meters of water were lost as a result. The owners filed an official complaint but were not feeling positive about the complain as tens of previous complaints had gone unnoticed.

It is obvious that the Israeli Police do not follow such cases, when the colonists are accused. It is worthy to mention that Al Sir area has been facing continuous attacks lately as colonists are trying to expand Mizad colony over the Palestinian lands there.
